Petals is a free demo game for Texas Chainsaw Massacre. 

I had the opportunity to learn Unreal Engine 5 during that project and utilizing nanite. 

Most of the assets were from Quixel Bridge and a few props were taken from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, however some assets had to be up-resed both in the asset and the textures. To see more about the character section, click here.

Responsibilities:

• Lead

  • I worked with a Character and Prop Artist to up-res existing asset and create new realistic ones.

• Layout

  • I worked with the Director and Designers to create the path needed for the player to have the best experience.

• Lighting

  • I had to match the lighting from the 1974 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre film using real time lighting. 

• Set dressing

  • I had to strategically place assets to make the scene as full and realistic as possible with performance in mind.

• Flowers

  • The main subject of this game is the flowers so we had to push the realism and utilize nanite and subsurface.

• Props

  • New fences and a rotary phone had to be modeled as well as decals.
